RISE provides a varied programme of activities for people of all ages with special educational needs and disabilities. View activities for adults.

Weekly activities
A range of weekly activities take place across the borough.
Fusion Junior Dance
These weekly, fun and lively dance classes are led by Combination Dance Company and are ideal for developing gross motor skills, flexibility, self expression and confidence.
Activity details:
- Dates: Saturdays from 11 January to 5 April 2025 (no session 22 February)
- Time: 11.45am to 12.30pm (Year 7+), 12.30 to 1pm (Reception to Year 6)
- Age: 5 to 16 years
- Venue: Up and Running, 70-72 Broad Street, Teddington TW11 8QY
Price: £48 per person for the term
RISE to Shine Swimming
This is part of our RISE to Shine project, training athletes aged 8 to 18 years who live or go to school in the borough to compete for Richmond in the London Youth Games. It is a very welcoming group focusing on stroke improvement. Swimmers need to be able to swim a 25m length of the pool unaided. Term time only.
Activity details:
- Dates: Tuesdays from 7 January to 1 April 2025 (no session 22 February)
- Time: 6 to 6.45pm
- Age: 8 to 18 years
- Venue: Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre, Vicarage Road, Teddington TW11 8EZ
- Price: £60 per person for the term
Football
Supported by Kew Park Rangers (KPR), a local Charter Standard Community Club, footballers aged 8 to 16 years practice a variety of techniques and skills to develop their agility, balance and coordination. KPR encourage players to join in competitively and socially. A team play in the Surrey Football For All League.
Parents and carers are welcome to stay, watch or take part.

Multi-sports
Delivered by Brentford Community Sports Trust. Come along and join in with a variety of different sports and exercise activities. These sessions are fun and engaging with the opportunity to try lots of different activities.
Parents/carers are welcome to stay, watch or take part.

Canoeing
Canoeing sessions with Lensbury Watersports Centre. A great opportunity to try out a variety of different boats and enjoy freedom on the water.
Canoeing will restart in spring/summer 2025.
All ability cycling sessions
This activity is designed for people with learning, physical and sensory disabilities, and their families to enjoy cycling. After being shown how to use the adapted cycles, we are offering the chance for a short ride to explore the park and linked green spaces.
Bikeworks will bring a range of adapted cycles, including tricycles, side-by-side cycles for two or more people, wheelchair platform cycles and go-kart style recumbent cycles.
Future dates for cycling sessions are to be confirmed.

Wheelchair basketball
Supported by Richmond Knights Basketball Club, athletes aged 6 to 16 years learn how to play wheelchair basketball using fun games to teach technique. The session is adapted for all abilities using specialist equipment. Sports wheelchairs are supplied. Opportunities for competitive games are available.
