Over £10,000 already raised for young people and families – and still time to donate

10 April 2025

Richmond residents have once again shown their immense generosity and support of children and young people living in the borough through donating to the Richmond Voluntary Fund (RVF). In just one week since the appeal was launched, over £10,000 has been donated.

Donations are still coming in and we need your continued support to help us make a life-changing difference to local children and young people.

The Trustees of the Fund would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to their sixth annual appeal which has gone to over 13,000 households across the borough. The generosity shown by Richmond’s community is both heart-warming and impactful – thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

This year’s appeal is raising funds for six local charities that provide vital support for children and young people facing mental and physical health challenges. Your contribution will help these charities to provide therapies, resources, and essential services, helping our young people build resilience, independence, and lead fulfilling lives.

The selected charities are ADHD Embrace, Home-Start Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow, Marble Hill Playcentres, Off the Record Twickenham, The Otakar Kraus Music Trust, and Skylarks. Every pound donated will go directly to one of our chosen charities and every penny will make a difference. Find out more about the chosen charities.

Councillor Penny Frost, Chair of Richmond Council’s Education and Children’s Services Committee and trustee of the Fund, said:

"We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated so far – every contribution is making a tangible difference to the lives of young people and families in our borough.

“There’s still time to give, and we urge anyone who can, to consider donating. Your support helps ensure these brilliant local charities can continue their essential work."

If you’d like to be part of the change, you can donate online or by cheque.
